Mondsee lies on the lake of the same name in the Salzkammergut, about 30 km from Salzburg and on the A1. The town has just under 4,000 inhabitants and an unusual mix: a centre with retail, catering and markets around the market square and the abbey church; events such as the Advent market, a cycling marathon and a triathlon that spread business across the year; a research institute for lake science; and trades that work far beyond the region with water technology and garage doors.
Two things set Mondsee apart from the other lakeside places. First, its position at the state border: people who work here often live in the city of Salzburg or commute there, and many businesses have customers and staff on both sides. That makes remote access a permanent topic — anyone reaching company data from the kitchen table, from the train or from a customer's car park needs secured access, not a password passed around. Second, the changing headcount: catering and retail take on temporary and seasonal staff for markets, summer and Advent. Each of them gets an account, till access and a mailbox — and in autumn those accesses should be closed again. In practice they often stay open for years. That is not a question of technology but of procedure, and that is what we clarify first.

- Connecting tills and card terminals in the town centre and at market stalls

What runs without a site visit
Day-to-day support, user accounts and permissions in Microsoft 365, creating and locking accounts, updates, monitoring and backups with a verified restore — plus website, SEO and Google Ads. The larger part of a security check (accounts, rights, updates, backup) can be checked remotely; only the walk-through needs an appointment.

Frequently asked questions
How do we get seasonal staff into the system and out again cleanly?
With a short checklist worked through at joining and leaving: create the account, give only the rights needed, set up till access — and lock everything the same day when they leave. We set the routine up once; creating and locking accounts we then do on request, remotely.
Our staff commute to Salzburg and partly work from home. What is needed?
Access that is also safe from foreign networks: a second factor at login, devices we manage and keep up to date, and rights only to the data someone really needs. That can be set up and checked almost entirely remotely.
How far is it from Lenzing to Mondsee?
It is 39 kilometres, about 35 minutes by car. That is a little more than to the places on the Attersee, but easy to plan. We therefore agree on-site dates beforehand and bring everything we need — for day-to-day support the distance makes no difference anyway.
Do you also look after businesses on the Salzburg side of the border?
For day-to-day support yes, it runs independently of location. For on-site visits the city of Salzburg has a page of its own; it says what we promise for which distance and what we do not.
We only have a single problem. Is that possible without a contract?
Yes. For a single case we charge €95 per hour by remote maintenance and €120 per hour on site plus travel. We set up a new PC for a fixed €190. These are guide prices, net plus VAT, and stated beforehand — no contract is needed for that.
We will get back to you within 24 hours on working days.
