IT, networks and technology around Lake Atter
WVM-IT looks after businesses and private households in the Lake Atter region — from Seewalchen and Schörfling to Nußdorf and Steinbach. Our base in Lenzing is 8 kilometres away, putting us on site in about 12 minutes. The focus here: networks and Wi-Fi that hold up when three times as many devices are on them in summer as in winter.

Around Lake Atter the technology carries a seasonal load. A business whose Wi-Fi works flawlessly in February has a hundred guests with two devices each on the same network in July — plus the till system, time recording and cameras. What breaks then is rarely the line, but the coverage: too few access points, badly placed, with no separation between guests and the business.
The second peculiarity is the buildings. Old walls, outbuildings, boathouses, terraces — radio does not reach there by itself, and an extra repeater usually makes things worse rather than better. We measure instead of guessing, and separate the guest network cleanly from the business network. That is not convenience but the precondition for a guest device not sitting on the same network as your accounts.
What we come to Lake Atter for
- Surveying and planning Wi-Fi — guest network and business network cleanly separated
- Installing access points, cabling and network equipment
- Holiday lets and houses: smart home, heating, shading, access control
- Cameras and access technology for properties not occupied year-round
- Audio and event technology for festivals, weddings and company parties
On-site appointments are arranged in advance, with a price. On-site work is charged at 120 € per hour plus travel.
What runs without a site visit
Network monitoring, faults, updates, backups, till and booking systems, email and Microsoft 365, plus the entire management of website, SEO and Google Ads. In season that is the decisive point: we usually see a problem before the first guest reaches the reception desk.
Frequently asked questions
Our Wi-Fi only collapses in summer. Why?
Almost always not because of the internet line but because of the number of simultaneous devices on too few access points. A single router handles a handful of devices well and thirty badly. The answer is rarely a faster line but planned coverage with several access points and a separate guest network. We survey that on site.
Do you also look after holiday lets and private houses?
Yes. By the lake that is a good part of the work: Wi-Fi, heating control, shading, access and cameras for properties that are not occupied year-round. Much of it can later be checked and controlled remotely without anyone driving out.
Can you provide technology for an event by the lake?
Audio, lighting and presentation technology for events is part of what we do, and the Lake Atter municipalities are all in the catchment area. What exactly is needed depends on size, location and available power — we clarify that beforehand during a site visit, not over the phone.
We will get back to you within 24 hours.
