IT move to the new office — planned, not improvised
WVM-IT handles the IT move to a new office: server, network and workstations are audited beforehand, planned with a checklist, taken down and set up on moving day and tested on the first working day.

Building blocks from the catalogue: workstation setup €190 per seat, network and Wi-Fi setup from €890, on-site work €120 per hour plus travel. The total price depends on scope and is given in writing after an audit.
Updated:
An office move usually lands on the same day as a public holiday — not literally, but it feels that way: the shelving was faster in the van than in the plan, and at the new site the internet line is a week late. The IT part is where day one shows whether there was a plan or an improvisation. Two to four weeks of lead time is enough for the IT itself (only the lines at the new site need six to eight), so that nobody stands with an HDMI cable in hand looking for the socket.
Network move and IT move: checklist
- Before the move: a full backup of every server and workstation — and a restore test so the backup actually helps if needed
- Order lines at the new site in time: internet, phone and, where needed, a fixed IP address; six to eight weeks lead time
- Draw a network plan: where the server rack goes, where cables run, where access points hang, where printers and terminals sit
- Label boxes: which device belongs to which workstation, which cables and peripherals go with it
- On moving day: server and network first, workstations after, every computer at the same socket as in the plan
- On the first working day: a round through the office, every workstation tested once — printers, shares, email, ERP
- After that: the new documentation, so a later move or handover does not start from zero again
Why there is no fixed price here
Because it would not hold up. Twenty workstations on one floor are different from sixty across three floors with a server move at night. We give you the price in writing after auditing the old site and inspecting the new one — using the catalogue building blocks (workstation setup €190 per seat, network from €890, on-site €120 per hour plus travel). The audit itself we bill by the hour.
How it runs
-
Audit and plan
Four to six weeks before the move: audit of existing IT, inspection of the new site, network plan, orders for lines and missing hardware, checklist per workstation.
-
Full backup and preparation
The week before: a verified full backup, boxes and cables labelled, order set. At the new site cables are pulled and sockets labelled before the furniture arrives.
-
Moving day and first working day
On the day: server and network first, workstations after. On the first working day a support round through the office, problems are solved on site.
Move within the same town, in the same region — or further
Within the same town the move usually fits into a day. Longer moves need more lead time and a dedicated slot for the server rebuild, because an interrupted backup is not a state you leave for days. In every case the old site stays reachable until the new one is tested — the way back is part of the plan, not the improvisation.
And if it should be ongoing after all?
Then the services pages are the right place. They are about support that continues: keeping an eye on workstations and servers, checking backups, being reachable when something stops. That starts at €29 per workstation and month and is something other than a single task — which is why it has its own pages.
Common questions
How can the network be moved?
For a network move we first draw the network plan: where the server cabinet stands, where cables run and where access points, printers and terminals go. The lines at the new site must be ordered early (six to eight weeks). On moving day we set up servers and network equipment first, the workstations afterwards, each computer at the same socket as in the plan. On the first working day we test every workstation. For a network with Wi-Fi that has to be built from scratch we calculate from €890.
How much lead time does an IT move need?
The IT itself needs two to four weeks; the critical deadline is ordering internet and phone at the new site — six to eight weeks. If those lines are ordered too late, the best plan will not help.
When is the move carried out?
We agree the timing to fit your operations — scope, available windows and the server switchover set the frame. Any commitment to evening or off-hours slots is made only after the audit, when the effort can be estimated reliably.
What about servers that must run 24/7?
Then we build a second server at the new site, migrate the backup and switch operations in a planned window — the old server stays reachable until confirmation. That costs more than a straightforward move but prevents downtime.
What about backups during the move?
Before the move a verified full backup runs; during the move itself the backup is paused — otherwise it would back up data that does not currently exist. On the target day a fresh cycle starts immediately.
