Building automation with Loxone and KNX
WVM-IT plans, programmes and maintains building automation with Loxone and KNX: lighting, heating, shading, access, security and media technology in one system. Installations of this kind are calculated per project and built on site — we quote after a short conversation and a survey, not before.
In building automation the result is not decided by the hardware but by the programming. The same devices can produce a system nobody understands, which gets operated by hand again after the first summer — or one that simply does what you expect. So we plan the behaviour first and the parts list second.
Where this pays off
- Lighting, heating and shading run as three separate systems side by side.
- The system can do a lot, but nobody except the installer can change it.
- A new build is about to go into electrical planning and the decisions are being made now.
- Access control and surveillance should work together with the rest of the technology.
What we take on
- Planning together with the electrician and architect, before the cabling
- Loxone and KNX: selection, installation, commissioning
- Programming the behaviour: lighting, heating, shading, scenes
- Access, cameras and alarm integrated into the same system
- A handover briefing so the system stays operable without us
- Support and extension later, without rebuilding everything
How a project runs
- 01
Conversation and survey
We work out what the system should do and what state the building or the planning is in. For new builds as early as possible — after plastering, every change gets expensive.
- 02
Concept and fixed price
You receive a concept with a parts list, a description of the behaviour and the price. Only then is anything ordered.
- 03
Install, programme, hand over
We install, programme and brief you. The documentation stays with you so another specialist could carry on.
Why there is no starting price here
A figure at this point would be guesswork. The price of an installation depends on the number of rooms, the state of the cabling and whether the work is in a new build or an existing one — the range is too wide for a meaningful starting price. We calculate per project and quote in writing after the survey. On-site work is billed at €120 per hour plus travel unless a fixed price is agreed.

Frequently asked questions
Loxone or KNX — which is better?
KNX is a manufacturer-independent standard with a very large device choice and long availability; Loxone is a more closed system that is quicker to set up and needs less planning effort. Which one fits depends on size, budget and how independent you want to be later. We tell you in the conversation what we would recommend for your project.
Can this be retrofitted in an existing building?
Often yes, using radio components and by replacing individual points. It is rarely as complete as in a new build and is most worthwhile where renovation is happening anyway. We say beforehand what is possible and what is not.
Will I depend on you afterwards?
No. You receive the programming, the documentation and all access. Any specialist who knows the system can carry on with it.
Do you do this across Austria and Germany?
This work happens on site and is therefore decided per project — unlike our IT support, which runs independently of location. Send an enquiry and we will tell you whether we can take your project on.
We will get back to you within 24 hours.
